Didactics this week

Dr. Quinn Holzheimer delivered a fantastic lecture on the ED management of Low Back Pain this week. He was followed by an excellent, hands on Lower Extremity Reduction demonstration by Dr. Autumn Graham. Dr. Larry Weiss, president of AAEM, finished the day with a timely talk about ED Documentation as well as the Academy.

Ten submissions accepted at ICEM 2008, San Francisco

Research continues at the Georgetown University and Washington Hospital Center Emergency Medicine Residency as ten submissions were selected for presentation at the 12th International Conference on Emergency Medicine.  Areas of research include Emergency Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Pediatrics, Sports Medicine, Psychiatry, ED Surge Capacity.  Faculty and residents look forward to traveling to San Francisco to present their original research.  Further information available at the ICEM website.

Bridge to ER One unveiled

Emergency preparedness took a major step forward today as Washington Hospital Center unveiled the Bridge to ER One.  The project focuses on innovative technologies deployed in the emergency department to improve communications, infection control, asset tracking, and surge capacity.  The Bridge to ER One includes expansion of existing emergency department space at Washington Hospital Center.  Further information available at the Washington Hospital Center website.
